Crime victims can obtain real-time updates about convicted felony offenders through New York's VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) system. This free service provides:

​

• Current custody status of offenders in:

  • NY State Department of Correctional Services

  • All 60 County Correctional Facilities (including St. Lawrence County)

• Automatic release notifications (if registered)

Required Information

To access offender details, you'll need:

1. The offender's:

   • Full name AND date of birth

   • OR NYSID number (NY State Identification)

   • OR DOCS ID number (DIN)

2. How to get an NYSID number:

   • Contact the prosecuting District Attorney's Office

When calling VINE, you can sign up for alerts about an inmate's release by providing:

• A contact phone number (where you want to receive notifications)

• A 4-digit PIN (to protect your privacy)
